Trends in Wall Art

Hot Colors!

Pastel colors belong to spring and we believe that it will be visible in spring’s interior trends 2021. We crave the lighter pastels. Go for pale yellow and match with soft shades of pink or lavender. Yellow feels like a happy color that cheers up and it comes in many different shades. Think three things, so that your room gets a lift without the yellow taking over: for example, a poster with a yellow motif, a glass vase with yellow tulips, and a ceramic bowl in a muted yellow shade.

Posterland inspiration with beige tones

Beige is a color that will still be popular. Working ton-in-ton is an effective way to create a harmonious and elegant home. This trend will probably span the entire year.

Colorful Posters

When we plan our homes, it becomes important to have something that stands out. It can be a statement poster or an old painting with lots of color. For those who like strong colors, it’s about decorating with contrasting colors: for example, green and red. Two posters next to each other, similar motifs but different colors become something that brightens up. The green and red shades feel softer and deeper now. Blue is also still present.

Plants

Green plants, flowers, herbs, and gardening – this year we decorate with motifs from the plant kingdom. A poster with garden plants is perfect in the kitchen. Plants and gardening are interesting.

We let pampas grass take up more space, both as decoration in vases but also as motifs in our posters.

Nature

When we have been limited for a long time, we dream of exotic places: sea and beautiful beaches, mountains and magical vistas. Outdoor activities, nature inspires.

Minimalist Elegance

A minimalist interior style with sleek lines and Japanese influences makes its way into our homes. Airy and elegant forms are seen in many motifs on posterland.shop

Lineart

The trend of depicting faces and bodies in the form of line art is strong. Think graphic illustrations, abstract figures, silhouettes shaped by a continuous line.

Best-selling on Posterland

January’s best-seller is our fine dinosaur poster, which features several dinosaurs gathered in one illustration. The poster, which tops the list in January 2021, is educational as all the animals are beautifully painted in different shades of green and a text explains what each dinosaur’s name is.

As both children and adults spend more time at home, it may feel extra important to surround ourselves with inspiring objects. So, what makes this poster so special?

Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Pteranodon, Brachiosaurus, Velociraptor, Dimetrodon, Parasaurolophus, Ankylosaurus, Plesiosaurus and Tyrannosaurus Rex… Just the names of these animals are exotic and almost impossible to pronounce. It’s easy to get sucked into a fantasy about how it would have been to be with these animals in historical times. Scary, but also thrilling and exciting! When looking at this poster, the eyes are drawn to the unique body shapes. Dinosaurs went extinct about 65 million years ago, but continue to fascinate. With their tails, sharp teeth and strong jaws, many were effective predators and extremely dangerous to the enemy. No one would want to bump into one on a walk! But some of them were plant-eaters. Focusing on animals and nature, and perhaps learning a little more as a bonus, are trends that we see.

One aspect of pandemic times may be that we choose something connected to our origin. More focus on now and then rather than full speed ahead. The authentic is a distinctive trend which can give us peace in a tumultuous present time. The green color as the trend color is still present in 2021, but perhaps in a softer shade. In this poster, we see many shades of green in subdued scale; gray-green, light green, petroleum green, mint green and camouflage green.

This is a poster that appeals to children most stylistically and is perfect on the wall in a child’s room, but it is also a decorative detail, for example, in a classroom, where it can bring joy to both big and small. We like it a lot.

But even Kitchen herbs and Laundry tips are motifs that have sold very well during the month of January.
